Kelly, Mariesa, Robyn and me at Val and Diane's house in Palm Desert
While in Palm Desert, we saw no one under 55. Mostly because we were staying at Sun City Village, which is a 55 and older community... But regardless, we all soaked up the sun, watched some baseball and drove around in golf carts.
It was like a mini high school reunion. We picked up Kelly, and started our hour and a half drive listening to Drake, old school Blink 182, and a mix a friend made for me when Mariesa and I went to Guatemala in 2004. Once we got there, Kelly and I went on a little run around the neighborhood, then joined Robyn and Mariesa in the hot tub. Saturday was our main day there, and we filled it with laying by the pool, sitting in the pool, sitting in the grass watching a the "over 70 year olds" play baseball (nice hit Val), and laying around finishing up our Harry Potter marathon. Did I mention we did a lot of relaxing?
The highlight of my weekend was driving around golf carts that were fancier than my car (I looked into the legality of driving them on the road, but the fastest they go is 35 mph, so i'll stick with my car for now...). We saw a Bentley cart, a Cadillac cart, a PT Cruiser cart with doors and a yellow smart car cart. We drove all around the "Village" with the carts. One of my first jobs was being the "Cart Girl" at Oak Knoll Golf Course. My job responsibilities consisted of pressure washing all the grass out of the cart, and driving them into the shed to charge. Challenging... There were the rare occasional days I would get to drive around the course picking up trash, and being 12, I thought driving the golf cart was one of the coolest things in the world. I figured out last weekend that my perspective on golf carts has not changed, and I am almost 22...
About to take a ride around the village
Kelly and half her Bridesmaids!
Clearly Robyn was enjoying herself...
