Surprise.... sort of...

Happy 24th Birthday to me!

Last Friday, Courtney threw me a surprise birthday party at Montana's! This was the first time I was not on the hide-behind-the-couch-stand-up-yell-surprise side.

Thursday, a friend mentioned the fact that I may have a surprise birthday party. And by mentioned, I mean, completely gave it away on accident. Instead of pretending, I told Brandon that I knew I was getting a surprise part, but didn't know what was happening.

So, he leads me on a wild goose chase, taking me several places I thought I'm was going to be surprised at. The one that got me: we pull up to his place, all lights are off, he slams the gate behind him. My heart is racing. He asks me if I want to go first or him. I open the door... nothing. I take a step inside, expect to get showered with Surprise... nothing. Brandon turns on the light and asks me if I want a drink of water. I'm a mess. I'm so confused, thinking, maybe I wasn't really get a surprise birthday party after all. We hop in the car, drive north and I'm still confused. Until, I see signs for San Dimas. Duh, we're going to Montana's. Only the best country line dance joint I've ever been to... (second close goes to Silver Spur).

We get there, walk up the stairs, Brandon pays the cover and I turn around... SURPRISE. There it is. I knew it was coming, but it still caught me off guard. There were so many people there to celebrate my birthday, which made me feel so special!

Even though it was still a week until my actual birthday, April 7th felt like any other day... But Brandon still came up and took me out to dinner Friday night, my actual birthday we spent at the beach playing volleyball, listened to Francis Chan speak and went out to dinner again.

Tally: 4 birthday dinners. (Ehh, sorry babe. I owe you?)
