Wow, what happened to my promise of blogging everyday..? Oh yeah, I had a week long work trip in Chicago that took every last ounce of energy out of me. That is what happened.
I wish I had seen more of the city, but really didn't get a chance to get out much. Brett and I ran to get our food every night in negative degree weather. Well, maybe not negative, but I think it was in the 40's. Cold. One night we ran to Chipotle, another to the grocery store. Then, I had too much going on and I couldn't run any more, so Brett ran to get food for me :) Thanks, Brett.
My black eye slowly receded, but not before several people asked me about it. I even had someone tell me, in a very round about way, that there are resources out there for people who find themselves in trouble, as his darty-eyes traveled from the wall to my black eye. Perfect. Thank you Samsung for making your phones so indestructible...
Over the weekend, I learned a few things about myself:
- In stressful environments, I work my best when I can work out everyday. Running is such a stress reliever for me.
- Positive affirmation is my best friend. When I'm busting my butt to work for someone, and it is acknowledged, it makes me want to work harder.
- I used to think finding parking was my worst nightmare, but I was wrong. My nightmare is not being able to eat any of my habitual foods. While I was on the road, I wanted eggs on toast, greek yogurt with sliced almonds, and mushrooms cooked with garlic salt. I need to stop eating the same foods everyday so that I don't have a panic attack when I can't.
I'm realizing I totally skipped over Halloween, but it is because I think I slept through it... No kids came to our door, I did not dress up, really just didn't do anything. What did you dress up as? What were some of your favorite costumes? Feel free to comment below!
